Ready for an exciting career in a sustainable trade to help WNC rebuild after hurricane Helene?
Full time Restoration Joiner Carpenter position available. Candidates will perform various
tasks relating to historic window restoration, such as building traditional mortise
and tenon sash, wood storm windows, fabricate window jambs, custom milling
and fitting individual parts for windows. We are a historic window and door
restoration company that specializes in preserving our historic built environment.
Some training provided; however, candidates are expected to know how to be safe
and proficient with using machinery and power tools while working in a brisk
production environment. The ideal candidate will work well with other team
members to complete tasks on schedule with a very high level of detail.
Three-day weekends! We work a 4-10 hour day schedule, Monday-Thursday.
Duties:
- Fabricate traditional mortise and tenon window sash
- Fabricate wood storm windows
- Replicate historic architectural elements
- Wood repairs using Dutchman and epoxy methods
- Use of power tools such as drills, routers, table saw, band saw, etc
- Cutting glass
- Some Removal of old paints using various proven safe techniques
Requirements:
MUST be highly detail oriented
2 year in the carpentry trade required.
Must be a self-starter
Must be able to follow step-by-step guidelines and methods closely
Must be able to communicate clearly; both written and orally
Must have a personal vehicle with a valid drivers license and cell phone
Should be comfortable on ladders.
Must maintain a clean and safe work environment
Must submit to background check and display no violent crimes or theft.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must have demonstrated some prior experience in trade or art
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is primarily performed both indoor and outdoor environments in all/extreme weather conditions. This position requires physical activity including periods of standing and walking, frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping and climbing. Requires the ability to lift and/or carry materials and/or supplies and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of materials and/or supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
