Office Assistant

FS Builders is a small, growing residential design-build construction company based in Western North Carolina. We’ve been in business for 5 years and intentionally build a limited number of high-quality homes each year. We care deeply about how we build, how we run our business, and how we treat the people we work with.

We are looking for a part-time Construction Office Assistant / Project Administrator to support construction administration, purchasing, and estimating coordination. This role is critical to keeping projects organized and running smoothly and will work closely with the owner and field team.

We’re a lean operation, which means this role matters. We value accuracy, initiative, and people who take pride in doing things the right way — even when no one is watching.

Core Responsibilities

Construction Administration

  • Enter and maintain accurate project data in JobTread (our construction management software)
  • Create and track purchase orders and material orders for field staff
  • Help keep schedules, selections, and documentation organized
  • Maintain project files, contracts, change orders, and invoices

Estimating & Preconstruction Support

  • Assist with estimate setup, revisions, and data entry
  • Update pricing, quantities, and cost codes as directed
  • Help prepare clean, professional proposals and documentation

Office & Vendor Coordination

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and orders
  • Follow up on missing information and flag issues early
  • Help improve organization and systems as we grow

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfortable working in software systems and spreadsheets
  • Clear communication and professional judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple small tasks without losing accuracy
  • Reliable, organized, and self-directed

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in construction, architecture, engineering, or a construction office
  • Familiarity with JobTread, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar systems
  • Estimating, purchasing, or construction administration experience

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time position (hours flexible, to be discussed)
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.15 - $26.67 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
