Contractor Continuing Education Class

Description

Full 8-hour day that fulfills your contractor continuing education requirements for the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors. Classes are taught in person by Jeff Makey of cLearn. Coffee, light snacks, and lunch will be provided. Do business with a member and support the BABRM!

Classes are:

  • 2026 Mandatory – 2 hours

Required for 2026 renewal.

This 2-hour course is required for NC Contractors.

  • Strategic Software Solutions - 2 hours

The construction industry is evolving quickly, and contractors who use the right technology gain a strong competitive advantage.

Most importantly, we focus on return on investment, because real value doesn’t come from buying software, but from proper training, leadership, and consistent use. This course will help you make smarter decisions and get more from the tools you choose.

  • Insulated Concrete Forms - 2 hours

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are changing the way buildings are designed and built. This course introduces contractors to this innovative construction method, covering how ICF systems work, how they’re installed, and why they deliver superior energy efficiency and durability. Learn how ICF structures outperform traditional framing in areas like thermal performance, disaster resistance, and long-term value.

Whether you're new to ICFs or looking to expand your expertise, this course provides practical insights you can apply on the job.

  •  The Move Towards Modular

Modular construction is rapidly gaining traction across the U.S. by shifting key parts of the building process into controlled factory environments. This approach limits exposure to common jobsite risks like weather delays, debris, and working at height, improving both safety and efficiency. It also addresses workforce challenges by enabling consistent training, increasing productivity, and allowing experienced workers to transition into less physically demanding roles. As labor shortages grow, modular construction offers a smarter, more sustainable path forward for contractors.
